Cheery App (“Cheery,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) values your privacy.

We do not sell personal information, but analytics or advertising tools (e.g., cookies) may count as “sharing” under California law. You can opt out any time (see Section 7).

- Event partners, when you sign up for an event powered by Cheery, but only for the purpose of managing attendance and matches.
5. Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies for security, performance, and analytics.

6. Data Retention
We retain data only as long as necessary to provide the Service, resolve disputes, or comply with law.
Inactive accounts and messages are deleted after 12 months unless legally required to retain.
7. Your Rights (California Privacy Rights)
If you reside in California, you have the following rights under the CCPA / CPRA:
- Right to Know – request details on what we collect, use, or disclose.
- Right to Delete – ask us to delete your personal information.
- Right to Correct – fix inaccurate data.
- Right to Opt-Out – stop sharing data for cross-context advertising.
- Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Information – restrict use of sexual orientation or location data.
- Right to Non-Discrimination – we won’t treat you differently for exercising these rights.
To opt out of sharing, select “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” in the app or footer.
Verification may be required for security.
8. Data Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards — including encryption, secure servers, and access controls — to protect your data.
However, no internet transmission is 100% secure; please use the Service responsibly.
9. Minors
Cheery App is intended for users 18 and older.
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
If we inadvertently collect such data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Cross-Border Transfers
Your data may be stored or processed on servers in the United States or other countries.
By using the Service, you consent to these transfers.
10.1 User Consent
By submitting your information or connecting a third-party profile (such as LinkedIn), you consent to Cheery’s processing of that data solely to provide matchmaking and event-related recommendations. You can withdraw consent anytime by emailing privacy@cheery-app.com.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect operational or legal changes.
When we do, we’ll revise the “Last Updated” date and notify users via in-app notice or email when changes are material.
